Mentee - Issary Alba

Issary Alba applied for the Women's Bond Club scholarship because she was impressed when she heard about the great support system the WBC provides. She was excited to win the WBC scholarship not only for the financial support but also because the WBC offers a variety of efforts; mentoring, career advice and a great network. Issary and her mentor, Dina Golas, have a great relationship and although their schedules haven't allowed them to meet often, they stay in touch via email and phone. Issary is very a very motivated young woman and has created her own network within the WBC. Issary met, and has kept in contact with Vicki Morgenstein, who has been instrumental in guiding Issary through her search for summer internships. This past summer, Issary interned at SunGard Data Systems in the customer service department. It was a great opportunity for Issary to work more on the technical side, which she was not as comfortable. She became more confident in her abilities, as she was able to teach herself the excel skills she needed for her job. In addition, she found by being flexible and challenging herself, she was able to contribute to her team and work on a variety of different projects.
