Community Outreach

Co-Chaired by Board members Anna Ewing (anna.ewing@nasdaqomx.com) and Mayra Sacco (mayra.sacco@bnymellon.com), this committee runs the WBC's charitable giving program, as well as the scholarship, mentoring, internship/jobs and testimonial programs. The primary focus of these programs is to support promising young women who are interested in building a career in finance and business. Committee work includes working directly with high school students, liaising with charitable organizations and local high schools, coordinating scholarship and mentoring programs, brainstorming about how to expand our efforts and more. The time commitment can range anywhere from 2-10 hours per month (including meetings) depending upon your role. Meetings can be attended in person or over the telephone.

Mission Statement:

The Women's Bond Club Community Outreach Committee is dedicated to improving the work life of women of all ages in the New York metropolitan area. Our programs focus on providing the knowledge, skills, education and network necessary to enter, succeed and excel in the Financial Services Industry.

We accomplish our mission through the following programs:
  • Scholarship Program – Offers merit-based scholarships to women students graduating from a select list of NYC public high schools to pursue studies in business and finance.
  • Mentoring Program – All scholarship winners are provided with a mentor throughout their college education to assist them with career development and networking.
  • Internship/Jobs Program – Assists in placing scholarship winners in summer internships in the Financial Services Industry and in finding full-time positions upon graduation.
  • Charitable Giving Program – Provides philanthropic gifts to select non-profit organizations.
